Town of Yorktown is located in the northern part of Westchester County. It is considered a suburb of NYC, being only 38 miles north of midtown Manhattan. Yorktown is a beautiful area with rolling hills, windy roads, sparkling lakes & reservoirs. Turkey Mountain, a popular hiking destination offers breathtaking views of Croton reservoir and the Manhattan skyline. Part of the 22 mile North County Trail Way winds its way through the village of Yorktown Heights. This paved path offers a car-free leisurely way to enjoy the lovely countryside.
Yorktown has a population of 36,000 residents and is comprised of many small communities including Shrub Oak, Mohegan Lake and Yorktown Heights. The large Cortlandt Town Shopping Center is located in Mohegan Lake and throughout Yorktown is numerous shops and different types of restaurants. Both Route 6 and the Taconic Parkway are easily accessible for commuters. Currently there is no rail service in Yorktown, but there are multiple Metro-North Railroad stations nearby.
