Town of Putnam Valley located in the southwestern part of Putnam County, has many lakes within its borders. The hamlet of Lake Peekskill, on the southern town line, includes one of the small bodies of water called Lake Peekskill. All residents of this hamlet have access to the lake’s three private beaches. Just across Putnam Valley’s southern border are the towns of Cortlandt and Peekskill. Both these towns offer shopping, restaurants and easy commuting to NYC. Metro-North has stations in Cortlandt and Peekskill with less than an hour train ride to NYC.
